Gmail Follow-Up Reminder Chrome Extension

What data we collect

When you choose to set a follow-up reminder, the extension stores the following information locally on your device:

• Recipient email address (To field)
• Email subject line
• Date and time the email was sent
• Your chosen reminder date and time
• Reminder status (pending, notified, completed)

How data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). No data is sent to any external server, database, or third-party service operated by us.

Google Calendar integration

If you opt in to the Google Calendar feature, the extension uses Google's OAuth authentication to create a calendar event in your own Google Calendar. This communication occurs directly between your browser and Google's Calendar API. We do not have access to your Google account or calendar data.

Data sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties. We do not use user data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's follow-up reminder functionality.

Data retention

Reminder data remains on your device until you dismiss it or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.

Permissions explained

• host_permissions (mail.google.com): To inject the reminder prompt into Gmail's compose window.
• storage: To save your reminders locally on your device.
• alarms: To schedule reminder notifications.
• notifications: To show reminder alerts when they are due.
• identity: To authenticate with Google Calendar when you opt in to Calendar integration.
